My name is Karen Valdes and I received my Bachelor of Science from Chadron State College. I have been teaching at Community Christian School for the past ten years. It has been a joy to teach in the Jr. High. I enjoy watching the kids grow academically, but most importantly it is a tremendous blessing to see them grow spiritually. While at CCS, I have had the opportunity to teach Jr. High Bible, Literature, History and Science. Currently I am the eighth grade homeroom teacher and this upcoming year I will be teaching Bible, Science and Literature. In Bible class it is my desire to see the kids gain a better understanding of who God is and who they are in Christ. May the eighth graders truly be transformed by the renewing of their minds. It is my hope that they will be prepared to go into high school and shine brightly for Him. In Science class, I pray that the students will get a better understanding of the world around them and come face to face with God, our Creator, and may they see that He touches every aspect of creation. In Literature class, I want the students to develop a love and appreciation for Literature. May they see that their life story is intertwined with God's Divine Story. May the students develop a love for reading and ultimately love His Word. I am looking forward to this upcoming school year. I know God has great things planned for all of us and I am excited to see what He will do in us and through us.
