My name is Karen Valdes and this year I am the eighth grade homeroom teacher at CCS.I have been teaching at Community Christian School for the past eleven years. It has been a joy to teach in the Jr. High. I enjoy watching the kids grow academically, but most importantly it is a tremendous blessing to see them grow spiritually. While at CCS, I have had the opportunity to teach a variety of subjects. Regardless of what the subject matter has been my goal has always been to allow God to do a work in their hearts so they get a deeper sense of who He is and in turn they find out who they are in Him. This upcoming year I will be teaching eighth grade Bible, and Science and Literature. I would like to see the students develop a godly worldview that will transform them from the inside out. I pray that the Jr. High students will truly be transformed by the renewing of their minds. It is my hope that they will be prepared to go into high school and shine brightly for Him.
In Science class, I pray that the students will get a better understanding of the world around them and come face to face with God, our Creator, and may they see that He touches every aspect of creation. In Literature class, I want the students to develop a love and appreciation for Literature. May they see that their life story is intertwined with God's Divine Story. May the students develop a love for reading and ultimately love His Word. I am looking forward to this upcoming school year. I know God has great things planned for all of us and I am excited to see what He will do in us and through us.
